THE FIREBIRD was a seamless blend of dance, music and story. Each dancer played a character, our Storyteller John wove the magic this ancient Russian lovestory between stunning dance and an exquisite, original music score, that included the sounds of sitar, kora, balafon, djembe, dijeridoo and vocals.
Our cast was diverse in cultural traditions, as well as age - dancers ranged from their 20s to their 70s! Drawing upon traditions from Africa, India, Bali, the Middle East and Contemporary styles, THE FIREBIRD became a gift of profound beauty, sadness, humour and joy.
