Festivals are our roots – that’s how Hands, Heart & Feet began! Filling the streets with music and colour, keeping the dance floor ecstatic!

Drum & Dance
Hands, Heart & Feet work with a style of music and dance primarily from Guinea in West Africa. It is characteristically fast & high energy, very exciting and powerful in performance, very approachable and fun in workshops and classes.
Storytelling
This is a completely unique form of Storytelling: while John May conjures up a mood on his drum, he will lead you down a winding path of imagery through the language of ancient stories. Meanwhile Emily Cooper will mesmerize you with the beauty of her movement, as she dances each of the characters’ journeys and emotions. A wonderful experience for both adults and children.
Workshops & Weekly Classes
Emily & John are well known for their community-based approach to drum and dance, and the welcoming fun spirit they bring to their workshops and classes. Hands, Heart & Feet also regularly organize workshops with fantastic African teachers. We also offer Drum Making workshops and classes.
Team Building John May has had over ten years experience working as a Team Building Facilitator, and is highly respected for his unique and inspiring work with companies.
Using rhythm, movement & creative play, John and Emily create the space for teams to connect with one another in a fun and totally engaging way. Experiential, inspirational and full of joy, participants often have a profound experience of who they are and how their music and dance contributes to the rhythm of the world around them.
